Louise was a major prize-winner at the Royal College of Music and was awarded a French Government Scholarship to study in Paris. She chose to remain in London however, and freelanced for ten years with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, London Mozart Players, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Europe.


Louise has always been active in the field of chamber music, having performed inn this capacity for BBC TV and BBC Radio 3. In a review of her South Bank Purcell Room debut The Times talked of her “extrovert, convincing playing” and also that her flute playing was “bright and dancing”.


Since moving to Scotland in 1994 with her husband and three children, Louise has combined peforming chamber music and solo recitals with teaching and composing. Recent large scale compositions include 'Millennium Gloria' and 'John Muir Songcycle' both scored for two choirs and instrumentalists.  The premiere performance of  her composition ''Morning Glory' for wind quintet, tenor and piano was well received at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015.


As a tutor of flute Louise is much in demand and she runs the highly successful Flutes du Soleil Summer course in the Hautes-Savoie, France www.flutesdusoleil.com
